articles to its juried professional publication,
The Journal of Teaching and Learning (JTL). Manuscript information for contributors follows:
Content:
The
Journal of Teaching and Learning
invites
submissions on topics of interest to developmental educators, learning
assistance personnel, academic counselors,
tutors, and others seeking a forum for discussion of both practical and
theoretical issues in developmental education. Articles should address techniques which make teaching more
meaningful and effective, research which leads to a better understanding of
developmental education or validates practice, or recent developments in the
field or related areas (such as educational
legislation)
which may affect developmental education.
Format:
All articles should be typed and double-spaced.
Documentation:
Articles, including sources and works cited, should follow current APA
format. Authors should be
especially meticulous about using APA
style accurately in all documentation.
Length:
Length should not exceed 8-12 typed pages, exclusive of cover sheet.
Graphics:
All tables, charts, and/or graphs to be included in the article should be
formatted as they are to appear in the final copy.
Their intended locations should be
clearly indicated in the text of the manuscript.
Compensation:
Authors of published articles will receive two free copies of the issue
containing their work.
Copyright:
Manuscripts may be edited for clarity or length.
All rights revert to the author after publication.
Review
Process:
The Journal usually acknowledges submissions within ten days of receipt
during September through May. Review
of submissions by two independent readers then follows, with publication
decisions made within four months. The Journal
is published in fall and spring.
To
submit an article for consideration, please mail a cover letter, one paper copy
of the manuscript, and one electronic copy of the manuscript on 3.5” disk
containing your article to
the Editor:
