we have lost $90.00

and the Budget and Finance Report be accepted. Kathy Buttermore seconded.
Conference—Kathy
- CRLA will be reimbursing OADE for
$600.00
- Kathy distributed a Conference
Chair Report and a very detailed template form for Akron 2005. This
budgetary breakdown will be prepared for Columbus 2006, too.
- Kathy said the vendors/publishing
companies will sometimes pay for conference-related items. (Evening
reception? Sponsoring a lunch?) Sandy Crawford, our vendor representative,
is compiling vendor contract/s. This will be one way to reduce our costs.
- Kathy is also going to be applying
for the NADE grants. (One may cover Sonya Strahm’s expenses.)
- Kathy next discussed the Thursday
night reception in Akron and how only 30 plus people attended, yet the cost
was $630.00. Kathy said we need to look at ideas for Thursday night
receptions in the future.
- Kathy also asked board members to
review the Conference Registration Form.
She also proposes the
following fees:
· Presenters/attendees
who are just coming in for the day will be paying $89.00 a day. This is
also the charge for same-day registration for those who have not previously
registered for the conference.
· Those
presenters just coming in for their presentations and leaving will also pay
$89.00.
· Active
Professional/Full-time: $110.00 (Conference fee only, no OADE membership)
· Active
Professional/Part-time: $65.00(Conference fee only, no OADE membership)
Kathy then provided an update on the 2006 conference:
·
The theme will be Setting Trends for the Future.
·
It will be held at Northpointe.
·
The dates are October 18-20, 2005.
·
The keynote speaker will be Sonya Strahm, NADE Board
member. Her presentation will focus on Columbus 2010 planning.
·
Jack Trushell will present on grant-writing.
·
OADE will invite representatives from State’s
Education Committee and Ohio Board of Regents.
·
David Hurwitz plans to give a yoga presentation.
·
Kathy is also going to be inviting representatives
from surrounding state’s NADE chapters---in preparation for NADE 2010.
·
David Callaway proposes getting the membership to
design a pin.
·
Kathy Buttermore welcomed Celeste to the Conference
committee.
·
David Hall suggested having the new president
installed on Thursday night instead of waiting until everyone’s about to leave.
·
Kathy will take this suggestion to March’s board
meeting.
